Top Yorkshire business woman celebrates new partnership
York based business and personal coach Sharyn Coleman is celebrating becoming a Director with Huddersfield based Partners in Management (PiM), pioneers of forward thinking management and leadership development.
Demand for the PiM courses has been growing for some time and as a result, it is now launching courses in York on the back of its huge success in West Yorkshire working with public and third sector SME’s and micro-organisations.
Now as an approved partner for Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP) which covers York and Selby areas, it will benefit from 50% funding for its courses.
Sharyn and her colleagues are all too aware of the challenges small business owners face which is why they are offering Masters level development on a one day per month basis, or weekend intensive basis.
Their courses stand out from the crowd, not only in their content and format, but in that they don’t follow the traditional university route of shutting for long periods during the year. Like their clients, who continue to operate through the summer season, their doors stay firmly open! .
The timing of this great training opportunity couldn’t be any better for Sharyn, as earlier this month she unveiled her own plans to provide clients with a two fold coaching practice, designed to embrace both personal and professional development within business.
For decades, Sharyn’s work took her worldwide, helping create and implement the best financial solutions and teams for companies.
It was in 2013 when she decided to work for herself because through her work she realised that her ability to tap into the core of every business, and the people running it, had given her a platform on which to help people in small businesses reach their potential on a personal as well as professional level.
Sharyn, who is also regional chair of the Chartered Management Institute, says of her own journey of self discovery:
“I’d find myself sitting down to provide business advice but leaving with a request to come back and help that person on a personal level. The opposite became true, too, so I thought that that was the answer. Business is personal, especially for small businesses, and I knew I could be a coach who offers both!”
To Sharyn, becoming a director in such a forward thinking and highly motivational organisation such as Partners in Management is a natural step towards everything she stands for as a person and a development guru.
So what’s the next step for Sharyn? As we speak she is taking calls from well known names in the world of enterprise who all want to speak with the woman who puts the ‘pro’ into active.
Her recently launched community office, Pure Zest, in York is the delivery centre for the courses and workshops she currently offers and she is creating a new course for launch in the autumn.
Just this month Sharyn sat down with Carl Hopkins of Secret Millionaire fame and Zulfi Hussain, entrepreneur and philanthropist who created Global Promise in the wake of the 2006 Asian Tsunami and has agreed speaking engagements at Pure Zest with both of them.
In addition to this, she and PiM founder David Broadhead, himself an academic and entrepreneur, are now discussing new projects to collaborate on. Watch this space!
Sharyn is currently in the middle of a website relaunch so it’s best to contact her through her LinkedIn profile or by logging on to Partners in Management at http://www.partnersinmanagement.org.
For anyone wanting to find out more information on the courses on offer, or how to book, they just need to email Sharyn at askme@sharyncoleman.co.uk and for everyone who does, they will automatically be entered into a prize draw course worth £2,000!
