Leeds entrepreneur pens reflective book to help business owners recover

Yorkshire entrepreneur, Matt Haycox, is set to co-author a business book alongside Jack Canfield, the best-selling author of the renowned ‘Chicken Soup for the Soul’ series, after he signed a publishing deal with Celebrity Press.

Titled ‘The Soul of Success Vol 2: The world’s leading entrepreneurs and professionals reveal their core strategies for getting to the heart of health, wealth and success’, the book will feature advice from a small group of entrepreneurs from around the globe.

A sum of the royalties earned from Soul of Success Volume 2, which will be released this Autumn, will be donated to Entrepreneur’s International Foundation, a not for profit organization dedicated to creating unique launch campaigns to raise money and awareness for charitable causes.

Matt Haycox, a Leeds-based entrepreneur, is behind one of the most successful lap-dancing brand in the UK, Wildcats, which he established after spotting a gap in the market for a unique kind of adult entertainment brand, bringing lap dancing into the mainstream.

Matt has also been responsible for transforming venues that other firms, including Spearmint Rhino, had written off and made them profitable again within weeks. After just five years, the Matt owned eight clubs, spanning throughout the whole of the UK.

Furthermore, in 2006 Matt founded his own brokerage and private lending firm, at at 27-years-old, he was the largest single shareholder and director of a PLC listed finance company.

However, in 2010 Matt’s chain of clubs and some of his other businesses folded, but he worked hard to reestablish himself as a successful entrepreneur. It’s this experience that Matt is drawing upon in ‘The Soul of Success Vol 2’, reflecting on the times when his firms collapsed, his subsequent business recovery, and offering his tips for business owners that are facing tough times to help them avoid the same mistakes.

Matt said: “I’ve enjoyed co-authoring The Soul of Success, Vol 2, as it has given me the chance to tell my own story, in relation to other entrepreneurs who are facing difficult circumstances. No business is immune to dips in trade or changing markets and the knock-on effects that can follow, and if just one person avoids making the same mistakes I did, because of my advice, I’ll be happy.”
