Newcastle IT firm launches recruitment drive following relocation
Newcastle-based Calibre Secured Networks Ltd has launched a new recruitment drive to meet growing demand for its IT and cyber-security solutions from education providers among other organisations.
The IT firm is looking to bring on board additional system engineers and a business development specialist.
The news comes as the Science Central-based firm finalises several new deals to provide local schools with the latest BYOD IT and support services and is the latest step in a three year strategy to boost growth and revenue.
It also follows Calibre’s recent relocation to new high tech office accommodation at The Core, as it closes in over the next six months on £1m turnover and a widening client base.
Currently employing 10 full and part-time staff, new engineering resources will boost the firm’s operational capacity, providing additional technical and support for installations at St Aidan’s Catholic Academy, Dubmire Primary School, Washington School among other sites.
Calibre’s investment in its workforce will underpin operations and continue to bring closer together the sales, marketing and technical support functions for its range of ICT and cloud-based solutions.
The move is the latest success for the firm, which utilises advanced technology and software systems from Cisco and other leading vendors to develop integrated and bespoke security-focused ICT solutions.
This is reflected in a five year managed services contract in the face of fierce competition to deliver a new cloud-based wireless network solution, network, and infrastructure refresh and storage solution.
Outside of education, the company works across the UK and Europe for clients who include Sage UK and Ireland and G4S.
As it secures its client base and, in turn, revenue through extra staff, Calibre’s managing director Karen Nelson said the firm’s established as a reputable supplier, delivering added value expertise with a track record that can be independently verified in competitive sectors.
Karen said: “Additional engineers together with the move to new premises, are the heart of a package of measures that sees us busier now than ever before delivering the resources customers want.
“We have the skills available to spearhead expansion as the economy improves further and more and more schools look to improve their IT provision.”
She added that Calibre will continue to support its talented team nurturing a new generation of young, highly skilled people within the regional IT industry based at the new office.
“The North East is a hot-spot for emerging talent and we are actively helping to deliver the skills our people need to be at the heart of delivering a pulsating regional IT economy.”
