BDO North West advises on Global Entertainment acquisition of Broadwick Live
Global Entertainment, the content creation arm of Global announced the acquisition of a significant strategic stake in Broadwick Live.
Broadwick Live stages music festivals around the world.
The company has created internationally renowned festivals including Snowbombing and Festival No.6 and branded music events such as the hugely successful Bacardi Triangle.
The deal is Global Entertainment’s first UK acquisition.
Broadwick Live will operate independently, working closely with Global Live, the live touring and festival promotion arm of Global Entertainment launched earlier this year. =
The M&A team at BDO in Manchester, led by partner Ruth Percival and James Fieldhouse, advised the shareholders of Broadwick.
BDO also provided tax advice.
Ruth Percival said: “This is the first UK acquisition in the events sector for Global and demonstrates how the sector is changing direction, as management teams look beyond the typical ‘competition acquisition’.
“This deal is another example of how organisations are moving away from their undeterred focus on core business only, which we’ve witnessed for the last six or seven years, and are diversifying into new markets and targeting new audiences to expand their footprint and market reach.
“The management team at Broadwick has found the perfect partner in Global to support the delivery of its aspirational plan.”
