Onyx launch North East Service Management Centre
North East-based IT infrastructure & Support specialists Onyx Group have announced the opening of a new Service Management Centre at their Newcastle-based Data Centre facility.
The Service Centre will host a team of 30 highly qualified IT experts to provide businesses throughout the North East with 24x7 cutting-edge IT Support in the fields of Data Hosting, Cloud Hosting & Backup, e-security and connectivity.
The investment into the new site will to support their existing support teams throughout the UK and play a key role in facilitating Onyx Group’s long-term goals of enhancing their current managed service offering, with in-house engineers possessing the highest level of technical expertise and a team dedicated to dealing with inbound customer support enquiries.
Neil Stephenson, CEO of Onyx Group, expressed his delight with the centre’s opening and felt it spoke volumes of the IT expertise currently being harbored in the North East : “We are absolutely delighted to have our centre fully operational and such a great team in place to help our clients reach their true business potential. The North East of England has some of the most talented IT professionals in the country and the level of expertise at this site is a shining example of that.”
“Onyx Group was formed over 25 years ago in the North East and the region remains imprinted into our DNA. It is home to some of the UK’s leading universities and we are passionate about creating an IT stronghold capable of not just tapping into but also retaining that talent pool within the North East.”
Onyx are determined to support the UK government’s agenda of creating a Northern Powerhouse of business and commerce and feel that the new Service Management Centre will go a long way in establishing the information technology sector at the heart of that.
The unveiling of the centre is just the latest example of the continued progress being made by the IT infrastructure & Support firm following their recent “Managed Services Provider of the year” award win at the annual Kaseya IT conference. The Kaseya software, developed under the name OneTouch by Onyx Group, allows staff at the centre to transform their service delivery into a truly proactive network monitoring system - enabling them to identify and rectify incidents before any service disruption occurs.
Following their acquisition of fellow IT provider Knowledge IT in late 2014, the IT & Infrastructure providers have gone from strength to strength with the completion of a seven-figure investment into their national core network and being crowned the “top performing large business” in Scotland earlier in the year.
