Celebrating Solar Energy with Free Family Fun Day
A north east renewable energy business is joining a UK wide celebration of solar energy by part funding an American themed free family fun day open to residents across Northumberland and the wider north east community.
Saving Energy Renewables North East – based in Ashington – is funding the free event which will take part on the Hirst Estate on Saturday July 4th. The event which, is being organised in partnership with the Solar Trade Association, Enphase Energy and Arch the Northumberland Development Company, celebrates National Solar Independence Day and forms part of a series of events taking place across the country.
With activities including bouncy castles, free BBQ and children’s games the free family fun day will provide residents in Northumberland and across the north east with a day packed full of entertainment combined with the opportunity to find out how they could benefit from free solar installations in their area.
Speaking about the event, Garry Coulson, MD at Saving Energy Renewables North East said: “This event is very much about us supporting the local community and providing local people with a fun packed day of free family entertainment. It’s also about joining in the national celebration of Solar Independence Day whilst also communicating to residents the many benefits of installing solar that could cost them absolutely nothing.”
And this commitment to community engagement is very much evident in the recent accolade received by the company – Green Business of the Year - awarded by The Journal and in recognition of the company’s achievement in lifting almost 800 vulnerable people across the north east out of fuel poverty.
The family fun day starts at 11am and will be officially opened by MP for Wansbeck Ian Lavery. Running through to 2pm the event also includes a host of activities including a penalty shootout and a various inflatable attractions.
Residents are invited to simply turn up on the day or for further information can log onto Eventbrite at http://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/solar-independence-day-hirst-estate-solar-homes-tickets-17325416788
