Commando Joe’s joins forces with 300th school
Leigh-based education provider Commando Joe’s, which aims to inspire young people in the UK to achieve their full potential, has signed up its 300th school St Francis Xavier’s College, in Liverpool.
This latest signing highlights the company’s success in boosting resilience, attendance, behaviour and self-esteem in school children and follows a positive end to 2014, after it secured £1 million funding from the Department for Education.
Since the firm established in 2009, it has gone from a two-man team working in local parks, to a leader in its field in education, employing over 70 members of staff across the North West, Midlands and North East.
Working in partnership with both secondary and primary schools, Commando Joe’s, works closely with teachers and pupils to provide a wrap around service that is incorporated into the school’s daily routine.
St Francis Xavier’s College is aiming to improve teamwork, self-discipline and health and wellbeing and so brought in Commando Joe’s to facilitate change. Mike Hamilton, director at Commando Joe’s said: “Reaching 300 schools is a huge milestone for us and is a testament to our skilled and enthusiastic instructors. We are passionate about motivating children to do well and make positive choices in life and will continue to do this as we grow.”
Les Rippon, Headteacher at St Francis Xavier’s College added: “Teamwork, resilience and confidence are all important skills in and out of the classroom and we know that Commando Joe’s will encourage these traits in our boys. The instructors’ drive and enthusiasm will help instil our ethos of ‘life in all its fullness’ and we are looking forward to seeing each class flourish under the watchful eye and support of Commando Joe’s.”
