AO.com deal sees Lancs CCC going green
Lancashire County Cricket Club has agreed a new sponsorship deal with Bolton based online electricals retailer AO.com.
As part of the new partnership AO.com will rebrand the scoreboard and bring their green livery to the Emirates Old Trafford ground.
The new arrangement will include a series of joint events which to be hosted throughout the summer at various locations across the North West, including Old Trafford, including a search for the UK’s fastest bowler.
Ashley Giles, former England player and current head coach at LCCC said: “I am delighted that AO has teamed with up with Lancashire County Cricket Club.
“With the recent Royal London ODI series between England and New Zealand we have seen just how exciting 50 over cricket can be and AO’s sponsorship of our Royal London 50 over Cup campaign will ensure that fans will be entertained off the pitch as well.”
Andrew Kirkcaldy, Group Brand Director at AO.com added: “We’re thrilled to be involved in this new venture with LCCC.
“Our driven approach and bold vision will give us the opportunity to create a fun experience for cricket fans and get the wider community excited about the season of games ahead. We’re looking forward to the results of the ‘UK’s Best Delivery’ game and are excited to see who in the UK can deliver as fast as AO.com. It’s certainly set to be a great summer of cricket.”
The ‘UK’s Best Delivery’ game revolves around a 10mx3m inflatable bowling wicket which records the bowling speed of all that enter. Top LCCC coaches will be on hand to keep an eye on the action and offer some helpful tips and insights on how to bowl with more accuracy and increased speed.
The three fastest male and three fastest female bowlers will be invited to the final International fixture between England and Australia at Emirates Old Trafford to play for two VIP tickets to the England vs. Australia One Day International and a 55“ Techwood TV and soundbar.
As part of the agreement with AO.com, the LCCC’s first team Royal London One day kit will also be completely re-launched using green as the dominant colour. This will be a first for the Lancashire Lightning team.
