Blacks Solicitors handles acquisition of former Thomas Danby College site
Leeds-based Bridge Estates, the commercial property specialists, has appointed Blacks Solicitors LLP to manage its recent acquisition of the former Thomas Danby College site in Sheepscar, Leeds.
Bridge Estates initially wanted to redevelop the existing buildings for storage or commercial property opportunities. However, the configuration of the building proved to be too problematic to redevelop, therefore it was decided that the most viable option was to demolish the building and offer a cleared development site to prospective occupiers.
Plans for the five-acre site are yet to be determined, although Bridge Estates is exploring options for a mixed-use development all of which will serve the local community and bring new activity to this currently vacant space.
Nick Dyson, partner in the Commercial Property Team at Blacks, said: “We were delighted to handle another acquisition for Bridge Estates. They are a forward-thinking company with a history of seeking out excellent commercial property locations.”
Paul Crabtree from Bridge Estates added: “We have worked with Blacks Solicitors and Nick Dyson in particular, for a number of years and we trust them to handle all our legal property work. Nick’s support with this latest site purchase has been indispensable. We believe that this land will suit the requirements of a variety of businesses that will help to bring jobs and commercial value to the surrounding area.”
