Middlesbrough set for new leisure destination as new units become available

Middlesbrough is set to benefit from a new leisure destination with new restaurant, bar and café units becoming available on Albert Road, adjacent to the new 138 bed Holiday Inn Express which opens on 12th August.

The units are situated on the Albert Road frontage of The Cleveland Shopping Centre overlooking the Centre Square and the Town Hall, which is due to undergo an £8m refurbishment next year.

The new units will draw from the 195,000 + weekly footfall into the Cleveland Shopping Centre and from a total catchment in and around Middlesbrough of some 640,000 residents.

Letting agent Richard Wilson, of Teesside independent commercial property consultants Dodds Brown, said: “We are looking to attract quality restaurant operators both national brands and local operators which will complement the new hotel and the Town Hall redevelopment.

“The units have a fantastic location overlooking Centre Square and there is the vision to create a quality restaurant quarter for Middlesbrough along this section of Albert Road which will also complement the nearby Baker Street and Bedford Street projects.

“The units have generous floor to ceiling heights and a wide pavement for outside seating areas. The new units on Albert Road will provide an opportunity for national and independent operators alike to benefit from a more centrally located leisure destination in the town.”
