Platform assesses security risk for SMBs
ZyXEL has launched a new online service to allow SMBs to independently evaluate the organisation’s network status and assess whether it is currently at risk of a dangerous cyber attack and where performance improvements can be found.
Completely free to use, AssessMy is an easy-to-follow online assessment for SMBs to evaluate the security, management and usage of their network and gain a better understanding of how it can be improved. Following the intuitive process which only takes minutes, ZyXEL will send users a full report to discover how they benchmark against other organisations and determine what they can do to optimise performance, security and manageability.
With 40% of cyber attacks targeted at SMBs, one of the biggest problems discovered from AssessMy respondents to date is the integration of Network Access Control (NAC), highlighting how businesses are not aware of the importance of securing employee devices. Other major weak spots included a lack of active management of the network and poor policy communication with employees.
Jon Pearce, Head of Enterprise Solutions Market Development of ZyXEL commented: “Getting the best out of a network and keeping it secure should be a top priority for SMBs, but it’s not always easy to find out how you’re performing without expert help. With AssessMy wireless networking, business owners and IT managers can quickly find out how their networks can be improved – and more importantly see where they might be vulnerable. The information provided shows exactly where things need to change and how your business compares to others across the country.
“While we launched AssessMy to help SMBs, we’ve also seen keen interest from the education and hospitality sectors, stressing the importance of protecting more ‘vulnerable’ markets including young children and ‘occasional guest’ users.”
