Music Business students graduate from BCME

Students from The BCME’s first Music Business course graduated on Wednesday 3rd July at LCB Depot in Leicester.

On a sweltering day students, friends and family attended the graduation ceremony for the 6 month Higher Education Music Business course at Leicester’s creative hub. BCME CEO, Ajay Naik, presented the graduates with their certificates alongside BCME tutors Robin Junga, Tom Conway and Martin Watson.

Also in attendance was former head of A&R at MCA and Hollywood, Tim Bulleyment. Tim delivered an inspiring speech in which he urged the graduates to take this opportunity and the skills they have acquired to launch their careers in an industry that has become more open to entrepreneurialism.

Another excellent speech came from graduating student Donna Phillips who since completing the course has been busy presenting on a number of radio stations, including BBC Radio Leicester and Eava FM as well as running her own business consultancy company. Donna praised both the tutors and the design of the course, stating that it was a life changing time for her.

Many of the graduating students have already made great headway in the industry. Bhavik Solanki has achieved a Number 1 on the influential US dance chart ‘King of Spins’ with The Windmills Project. Joe Doyle has just released his debut EP under the name ‘Homeless Shakespeare’ and Samuel Conway has secured an apprenticeship at a new recording and rehearsal studio in Leicester.

Representatives from Moat Community College were also present at the graduation. They were awarded Arts Award certificates for the programme which was delivered by BCME and led by Head of Partnerships and Participation, Kate Rounding.
