Nest.co.uk Sees 110% Increase In Showroom Sales
Sales at the Sheffield based showroom of furniture and design store Nest.co.uk, established in 2002, more than doubled in June compared to the same period last year, according to the company’s Residential Sales Consultant.
Home-office furniture, hard-wearing rugs, throws and versatile shelving have been amongst the most popular items; a trend linked to a growing number of people investing in transforming their sheds into a ‘usable extension’ of the home.
The company, which re-launched its website earlier this year and has also seen a surge in online orders being shipped nationally and international, reported a 110% increase in like for like sales at its showroom based on the Sheffield Parkway Rise.
Ashlee Sanderson, Nest.co.uk’s Residential Sales Consultant, said: “Whilst orders across the company are up, from both a domestic and a commercial perspective, the highest increase in like-for-like sales for June was in our Sheffield showroom.
“Furniture is an incredibly personal purchase, and so when people take the time to come in to store to look at our range we offer a consultation service – working with our customers to understand what it is they are after and where it is they plan on putting it.
“Over the last month in particular there has been a notable increase in the sale of certain items and that is largely as a result of the growing trend towards kitting out the shed at the bottom of the garden to make it a real extension of the house itself. More people than ever are making the most of what they have got.”
Nest.co.uk was founded in 2002 and now ships to customers nationally and internationally. In 2014, the brand launched its bespoke interior design services, offering free consultations to home-owners looking to build their own nests.
Last month the company announced the appointment of six new team members, as well as the expansion of its Sheffield warehouse.
