Mactech Says Goodbye to Long Serving Staff Member
Management at North East based company, Mactech Inspection Limited, have bid a heartfelt goodbye to Alex Griffiths, one of the company’s longest serving NDT Inspectors.
Alex joined Mactech in 2006, when he was a recent Engineering Graduate and had just passed his Level 1 Ultrasonic exam. Mactech were able to offer him a sub-contractors position with their client, Applus RTD, in The Netherlands.
Upon commencing employment both companies were impressed with Alex’s work ethic and attitude, along with his ability and willingness to learn and develop. Investment was committed and within the next two years Alex completed his Level 2 exams in Ultrasonic (welds), Radiography, Magnetic Particle and Dye Penetrant Inspection Methods.
Over the years Alex has continued to work with Applus RTD, where he has been specifically requested by Plant Managers, on projects including shut-downs on sites such as DOW Terneuzen, Yara Sluiskil, Amercentrale and Total’s Zeeland Refinery. Due to his work rate and ethics, further responsibility was also given including coordination, training new contractors, personnel relations and official reporting.
Applus RTD recognised Alex’s commitment and earlier in the year offered him a permanent role within their company. Mactech’s Managing Director, Andrew McFarlane, said of Alex’s new role “this is a fantastic opportunity for him, where I am sure he will excel in his new role as Senior NDT Specialist. While it is a shame to be losing such a dedicated member of staff, everybody at Mactech wishes him all of the very best and success for the future.”
