schuh set to open first Bradford store in The Broadway

schuh, one of the UK’s most popular footwear retailers, is set to open a store in Bradford for the first time ever.

The new store will be located at The Broadway, and will be joined by fellow new sign-up Love Koffee, a family-run business committed to providing the highest quality coffee.

The retailers will both be open for business when The Broadway officially opens on Thursday 5 November, alongside leading department and fashion stores including Debenhams, M&S, H&M, Next, Topshop, Topman, New Look and River Island.

The schuh store, which will be located on Eastbrook Mall, will stock schuh’s full range and include a kid’s zone. Love Koffee’s two level store will sit on Charles Street.

Love Koffee and schuh, who will both benefit from The Broadway’s modern retail offering, including double-height frontages, join a growing list of UK leading brands who will capitalise on the forecasted 78% increase in retail spend and the 40% increase in footfall to the city centre following the opening of The Broadway.

Keith Mabbett, director of leasing at Westfield, said: “In recent months we’ve seen The Broadway gain great momentum, with schuh and Love Koffee, both names new to Bradford, further testament to that momentum. They join other fantastic names who are new to the city and have signed up in recent months, such as H&M, Patisserie Valerie, Taco Bell and The Entertainer.

“The Broadway is now well over 70% let, and I’m happy to confirm that we’ll be announcing further exciting names in the near future.”

Phil Whittle, schuh’s Head of Store Operations, added: “The Broadway is the perfect location to open our first Bradford store, combining a fantastic city centre location with cutting edge design.

“We can’t wait to welcome Bradford’s shoppers through our doors for the first time on Thursday 5 November, and look forward to providing them with our great range of fashion footwear.”

Vikesh Patel from Love Koffee, also commented: “Love Koffee is a family-run business that is passionate about providing great coffee and a range of other food and drink. We’ve long recognised that Bradford is one of the north’s untapped opportunities for growth, with a young and quickly growing population, and we’re delighted that we’re able to tap into that potential through the development of The Broadway.”

The Broadway development will create 2,500 new retail jobs upon opening and is already delivering a significant boost to the local and regional economy.
