Developers get to core of Apple with shinobicontrols
Following on from the huge success of its iOS8 ebook, published last year, shinobicontrols has now launched a series of blogs on iOS9, after Apple’s test platform was made public at last month’s Worldwide Developer’s Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco.
The useful posts, the first of which, on search, is now live, covers the most significant of the Application Programme Interface (API) improvements that will be available to developers once iOS9 is fully launched to market later this year.
Introducing each feature with enough detail to provide developers with a platform on which to build their knowledge, each post also provides sample projects so developers can see how each feature operates. Advice and analysis is given by shinobicontrols’ developer and blog author Chris Grant. In each post Chris addresses important future issues that developers may want to consider, potential pitfalls to avoid, some of the problems he has encountered and lessons learned from them.
This blog was created to help time-poor developers make the most of the latest technology without having to wade through countless video tutorials and instruction documents. The latest instalment builds on the continued success of shinobicontrols’ Day-by-Day blogs on Apple’s previous operating systems, iOS7 and iOS8, both of which were made into popular ebooks.
shinobicontrols’ Chief Operating Officer Stuart Grey said: “Chris has always had an interest in mobile development and has pursued this passion throughout university and into his professional career. With numerous mobile applications and native UI frameworks to his name, he was the perfect candidate to help novice and experienced developers alike to get to grips with iOS9 ahead of its full launch over the coming weeks.”
Chris added: “We aim to make this content as straightforward and practical as possible, so each post will include working sample code that will be pushed to our GitHub account in bite-sized chunks.”
Updates to the blog are expected to be published weekly, with topics such as multitasking, Apple Pay and Right-to-Left Languages coming soon. For more information on shinobicontrols and its products, visit shinobicontrols.com.
