Sunderland radio station charge into low emissions
Local station, Sun FM have worked with award-winning electric vehicle charging company to install state-of-the-art charging facility.
Installed by Elm Electric Vehicle Charging Solutions, the charging point will be vital for the radio stations two fully electric, Nissan LEAFs, allowing them to charge the cars on-site at their Sunderland office.
Sun FM News Editor, Stephen McCabe said: “The electric cars are used to travel around the North East, to sales meetings and news events.
“The charging point has enabled us to use our electric vehicles more. We are now able to charge the vehicles when we are working in the office, knowing they will be fully charged when we are ready to use them.”
The charging station has a dual socket, in which two vehicles can be charged at any one time. It can also charge any type of fully electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle.
Elm EV Commercial Director, Dan Martin said: “The station are now promoting a more cost-effective, transport solution and have increased their Corporate Social Responsibility by lowering their carbon emissions and playing a vital role in reducing the carbon footprint.”
