Liverpool ONE Hugo Boss store to create new boutique space
The Hugo Boss store in the Liverpool ONE (L1) shopping complex is set to expand by creating a new 4,158 sq ft boutique.
Grosvenor Fund Management (GFM) has announced the upsizing of the BOSS store on Peter’s Lane, which is expanding by taking over the floor above its existing retail space.
In addition to stocking clothing for men and its trademark fragrances and accessories, the move will see the L1 BOSS store offering women’s garments in the city for the first time. The company is creating a ground-floor women’s fashion section that will stock shoes, bags, accessories and perfume.
Work on the two-floor space, which is scheduled to open in Autumn 2015, is already underway and includes a new double-height glazed façade to transform its appearance from the street.
GFM’s director of portfolio management, Miles Dunnett, said: “BOSS’ decision to double its presence in Liverpool ONE reflects the brand’s strong performance on Peter’s Lane. It is also consistent with our commitment to creating a combination of brands that is unavailable elsewhere in the region.”
BOSS’ decision to upsize comes as a number of other brands have increased their presence in Liverpool ONE. Last autumn, fashion retailer Zara unveiled a 27,000 sq ft shop on South John Street, while at the same time retailer Michael Kors made its L1 debut.
The MD of Hugo Boss, Stephen Born, said: “Liverpool ONE, and Peter’s Lane specifically, has become the first choice destination in the region for premium fashion, which has driven very strong sales since we opened.
“Extending our store provides the opportunity to cater for this growing demand from consumers, whilst at the same time creating a boutique that embodies the true breadth of the BOSS brand.”
The expansion reflects the wider growth of Liverpool ONE, as its catchment is now 73% larger than when it first opened in 2008.
