Construction Firm Donate over £30k to Community Projects
Yorkshire’s award winning construction and maintenance firm Hobson & Porter have revealed they plan to donate over £30,000 worth of materials and labour to local community projects, through the YORHub Framework 4Good Fund.
With many years of highly diverse building projects for the Commercial, Housing, Healthcare, Industrial and Education sectors behind them, Hobson & Porter decided to build on their reputation for quality and project delivery by giving back to the local community.
Community groups across Yorkshire and the Humber are invited annually to submit applications for funding of up to £5,000 for their community projects from the YORbuild Framework 4 Good Fund.
This fund is one of the framework’s main drivers for social and economic regeneration amongst its beneficiaries. To qualify for funding, projects must be sustainable, locally sourced, engage small to medium enterprises (SMEs) and encourage self-sufficiency, empowerment and sustainability.
Graham Beal, Managing Director at Hobson & Porter, said of the news,
“We had a choice of either providing financial payback into the fund or providing the materials and people to do the work and we opted for the latter.
“We have very high standards and a great reputation for our quality of finish so by supplying the material and the manpower, we can personally guarantee the work will be finished to our standard for these very deserving recipients. We’ve made a promise, and it’s time to see it through now the Framework schedule is ready for us”.
Those set to benefit from their successful bids include schools, fire stations, police stations, public swimming pools, sports facilities and affordable housing scheme, reaching from the outskirts of Hull right through to Pocklington.
The community groups had their applications supported through local action groups, Make Safe, Scarborough Mere Angling Club, Rooted in Hull, Driffield Church Schoolroom and RESPECT @eternal benefits.
