Route unveiled for Liverpool's Brazilica festival

Businesses in the centre of Liverpool are in line for a footfall boost this weekend as the Brazilica Festival comes to the city, with organisers today unveiling the route for this year’s event.

Crowds will be drawn to restaurants and bars in areas like Hardman Street, Bold Street and the Baltic Triangle on Saturday (July 18), as a carnival parade travels through the city’s streets from 8pm. Thousands of Liverpool residents and visitors to the city are expected to line the planned route.

Getting underway at Abercromby Square, the parade will move onto Oxford Street and then Hope Street, passing the Philharmonic Dining Rooms pub. From there, the parade will be travelling down Hardman Street and on past the independent coffee shops, bars and eateries of Bold Street.

This year, the parade route has been amended to take festival goers onto Slater Street and Duke street, and from there through the city’s Chinese Arch on Nelson Street, ending after that in Great George Square.

Two independent venues in the Baltic Triangle area, Constellations and District, have been chosen to host after parties from 10pm until 3pm.
