Solicitors Ward Hadaway becomes UK advisor for cancer treatment company

Swedish life sciences firm Clinical Laserthermia Systems (CLS), which is working in the cancer treatment field, has chosen Ward Hadaway as its legal advisor in the UK.

Ward Hadaway, which has offices in Manchester’s Chapel Walks, was chosen for its background working with clients in the life sciences sector.

CLS creates heat-induced cancer immunotherapy for treating most types of solid cancerous tumors. The method is designed to destroy tumours with laser-generated heat, while stimulating a specific antitumor response from the body’s immune system.

The process is controlled by temperature feedback from the tissue, which allows temperature levels to be closely controlled. According to CLS, this is critical in activating an immune response.

Clinical Laserthermia Systems is now conducting a clinical study program over in Europe, which preparatory work underway for a possible extension of its activities to the UK.
