Impressive first year for Europa Nottingham

Europa Road, a division of independent logistics operator Europa Worldwide Group, is celebrating the first anniversary of its Nottingham team, marking it with a record month for consignments (in June).

Europa sales office in Nottingham has seen fantastic growth, dealing with over 500 consignments a month; the operator is an impressive entrant into the East Midlands regional logistics market.

The import and export industry across the East Midlands is currently booming, the latest reports show that activity in the regional logistics sector has increased by 21 per cent during 20141 The operators strategic location in Nottingham has allowed Europa Road to go from strength to strength.

Europa Nottingham’s anniversary and news of record growth coincides with launch of the operator’s 1hub concept, which sees its European road freight centralised at a newly opened £30million Dartford site. 1hub creates the UK’s largest European groupage hub, designed to speed up transit times and reduce handling, with all Europa Road’s network of 10 regional branches around the UK, trunking directly into that hub.

The 1hub concept will ultimately give Europa Road customers an improved service and puts the business on target to become the clear market leader for groupage business between the UK and Europe.

Europa Road’s Nottingham Branch Manager Sam Boot comments “We have had a fantastic year with unprecedented growth. We are on the way to realising our ambition to be a leading player in the East Midlands. Now with the onset of the 1hub concept, there are even more benefits for our customers. It is an exciting time for us, and we anticipate next year will bring further growth.”

Our strategy is to deliver excellent customer service via locally managed channels putting our products and services at in the heart of the East Midlands. We are incredibly pleased with the impact the branch has made so far.”

There are currently five staff at the Nottingham sales branch, who have over 60 years of experience in the logistics industry, with Europa planning to recruit towards the end of the year.

Europa Worldwide Group employs more than 500 people across 12 sites in the UK and Hong Kong and is represented in 100 countries. As well as its successful road freight operation, Europa Worldwide also provides specialist air, sea, warehouse and showfreight services.
