Landau Parapan director completes coastal charity ride

Yorkshire business director Gareth Atkin has pedalled his way through punctures and chain problems to cross England by bike on a 170-mile coast-to-coast charity ride.

The sales and marketing director of Hull-based kitchen manufacturer Landau Parapan took part in the Way of the Roses coast-to-coast cycle route this month, riding from Morecambe to Bridlington.

He has raised more than £800 for L6ve Life Foundation, the charity set up by his friend and Motor Neurone Disease (MND) sufferer Lee Newton. L6ve Life Foundation provides funds for those who fight to find a cure and help those already living with MND.

Gareth, whose company Landau Parapan is based in Bontoft Avenue, Hull, said: “I was delighted to complete the Way of the Roses challenge, it was a great experience. Although, my bike took a bit of punishment with a puncture and two chain malfunctions!”

“But we raised lots of money for a great cause and I am already thinking this could be an annual event I take part in. I am going to see who else will join me from the Landau Parapan team next time!”
