City Football Group strikes new deal for Manchester City
City Football Group (CFG), the operator of Manchester City FC, has announced an international partnership between three of its clubs and coconut drink company Coco Joy.
The new deal will see Coco Joy’s existing partnership with Melbourne City FC extended to Manchester City FC and New York City FC.
Omar Berrada, the commercial director of City Football Marketing, the broker for CFG’s commercial partnerships, commented: “We have had an excellent relationship with Coco Joy in Melbourne and it is a fantastic success story for that partnership that we are now going to be working together at Manchester City and New York City FC as well.
“As the popularity of coconut-based beverages continues to grow, there couldn’t be a better time to work with Coco Joy to bring the joy to our fans all over the world.”
The announcement follows the first ever game played between two CFG clubs, as Manchester City took on Melbourne City over the weekend.
The extended partnership will see Coco Joy’s branding made visible on the Manchester City team’s shirtsleeves as part of a Tour Partnership during their Australia visit.
Coco Joy, which is part of the range offered by health drink company FAL Food & Beverages, is hoping to boost its presence in Manchester by engaging City fans with giveaways and other offers.
Tim Xenos, the FAL CEO, said: “Coco Joy is a coconut brand dedicated to promoting a healthy lifestyle to consumers globally and we see our partnership with the three clubs as a fantastic platform to work together to help collectively promote a healthy lifestyle whilst they can experience the quality, choice and enjoyment in what Coco Joy has to offer.”
