Established last year, the venue will be host a plethora celebratory occasions and events and will employ up to ten employees, whilst catering will be provided by local caterers.

The recently restored venue, which will be hosting all kinds of celebratory occasions and events, can cater for up to 180 guests and can sleep up to 41.

Richard Shell, Managing Director and owner of Doxford Barns said: “We’ve been creating the venue for the past six months. We have used local contractors to complete all the work and they have worked tirelessly to help me achieve my goal.

“Our first wedding takes place on 25th July and we have been fortunate enough to secure weddings well into 2017. I am extremely grateful to Barclays for their financial support as it has enabled us to open our doors sooner than we initially anticipated.”

Paul Duggan, Business Banking Manager at Barclays put together the funding package for the deal and said: “It’s been so rewarding helping Richard get this new venture up and running and I’m delighted that he’s already secured so many weddings.

“This deal demonstrates that we are open for business for quality deals across Northumberland and we look forward to seeing Doxford Barns go from strength to strength as they develop the business throughout the year.”

Barclays’ funding amount was undisclosed.
