Pep&Co opens first Yorkshire store in Hull’s Prospect Shopping Centre
Pep&Co, the discount fashion retailer, has opened the doors of its first Yorkshire store in Hull’s Prospect Shopping Centre, which created 12 new jobs.
The store, which is just one of 50 new sites the company plans to open across the UK in the next two months, has filled the unit formerly occupied by That’s Entertainment.
Pep&Co, launched by former Asda chief executive Andy Bond, offers low-cost fashion and homeware ranges that are designed to appeal to young mums.
Mr Bond, who hopes the the new fashion chain will revitalise struggling local high streets, said: “Over the past few years, we Brits have been falling back in love with our high streets by shopping in smaller locations at stores offering real value.
“My ambition is that Pep&Co will be the first true town centre fashion value store, able to build on the example of new value food and general merchandise retailers.”
Lee Appleton, Prospect Shopping Centre manager, added: “We are delighted to welcome Pep&Co to the Prospect Shopping Centre.
“Pep&Co is a new entrant to the UK retail fashion sector and we are especially pleased to be home to the first of 50 brand new stores opening in the UK this year.
“We are certain this fabulous new fashion brand with its exciting range of great value women’s fashion and essentials, baby and children’s wear, as well as fashion for the home and accessories, will be the perfect addition to the centre, giving our loyal shoppers even more choice.”
