Warrington firm wins BIG with RBS funding
North West industrial coatings company B.I.G International (BIG) has grown its UK operations by expanding into a new warehouse next to its current facility in Warrington.
The company, which is based on Eagle Park Drive, is taking on the 7,000 sq ft warehouse after securing funding from The Royal Bank of Scotland and RBS Invoice Finance. The deal was signed after a large contract win saw the industrial coatings firm become the sole distributer of Dekalin and Dintrol, two coating brands, across the UK and Ireland.
RBS is providing the firm with a six-figure loan that will go towards the cost of renovating its new warehouse, which will be completely refitted. The work includes the removal of internal walls to merge BIG’s two buildings into one.
The director of B.I.G Group International, Niels Andersen, commented: “In addition to the new contract wins, we have achieved strong organic growth with turnover rising by 31% in the last financial year alone.
“This growth, along with the further 25% we predict during the coming 12 months has fuelled the need for more space and we couldn’t be more pleased with the finished premises.
Niels added: “As a company we have a lot of exciting projects on the horizon and thanks to the support we receive from RBS and RBS Invoice Finance we are perfectly placed to make the most of these opportunities.”
BIG works as a supplier with the car manufacturing industry and various vehicle accessory retailers. Just recently, the company signed up to a global distribution agreement with construction equipment firm JCB, and is currently trialling the implementation of corrosion protection technology with British car manufacturer Aston Martin.
RBS Invoice Finance’s relationship manager, Derek Johnson, said: “I am delighted that the working capital facility is supporting BIG and enabling it to continue to expand its operations. The team has built a very successful business and the new premises are fantastic.”
RBS will also provide BIG with a number of everyday banking services, including access to its web-based foreign currency tool, RBSMarketplace. RBS Invoice Finance is also supporting BIG with a working capital facility, which includes credit protection against customer insolvency.
