Barrett+Barrett branches out to the North East with Logic Architecture launch
Leeds-based Barrett+Barrett architects has opened a second practice, expanding into Middlesbrough. The new business, branded Logic Architecture, is already managing projects worth £12m.
Logic Architecture has been awarded contracts to design two 60+ bed extra care developments for GallifordTry, as well as a supported living development for adults with learning disabilities and an ‘Alms-house’ style bungalow scheme.
The new practice is also working on a number of regeneration and refurbishment projects in the commercial and education sector in the North and Midlands.
The intention is to run the two practices in complementary tandem, with the teams from each office deployed to provide support and expertise to each other as required.
Patrick Barrett, Barrett+Barrett principal architect and Logic managing director, said: “Our Leeds-based team has been involved with an increasing number of large development projects in the North East and late last year we decided the time had come to set up a second office there.
“In the last two weeks (to 13th June) the total value of projects secured has reached £12m – a fantastic start for any company!
“As the only architect’s practice in Middlesbrough town centre we are confident we can use our pragmatic and commercial design expertise to assist in unlocking some of the many regeneration commercial, residential and retail opportunities in the region.”
Operating from offices at Morwick Hall, York Road, Leeds, Barrett+Barrett has recruited a North East team of six including architect Mark Barlow, the former partner of a leading Teesside practice.
