Land Securities appoints retail agent to support growth at Bluewater

Land Securities has announced that Time Retail Partners, the retail property advisory business founded by Rob Wingrave, Nigel Thompson and Bruce Nutman in March this year, has been appointed as joint retail agent for Bluewater, Kent.

Time will work alongside CBRE and Shelley Sandzer, the latter focusing on the shopping centre’s dining and leisure offer.

The appointment of Time brings specialist skills and expertise to the Bluewater agency team.

Alongside CBRE and Shelley Sandzer, Time will focus on adding to Bluewater’s line-up of international brands, new concepts and statement stores which includes the recently opened American Eagle Outfitters, Hackett, Rockar Hyundai, and Jo Malone, and the forthcoming Breitling boutique, which opens this autumn.

Russell Loveland, Portfolio Director at Land Securities, said: “There is sustained demand for Bluewater, particularly amongst international retailers and brands seeking to create something special, which has led to a number of industry firsts in the last 12 months. The addition of Time Retail Partners to the team means we can extend our reach even further to secure more debutants and one-of-a-kind statement stores.”

The Time Retail Partners team for Bluewater will be led by Matt Cassell, who added: “Bluewater is a fantastic new instruction for Time, and we are thrilled to be part of the team. Bluewater has a very strong reputation, which we will help to add to by attracting more high caliber brands, new concepts and portfolio flagships.”

Since July last year, approximately 80,000 sq ft of Bluewater’s offer is new or enhanced. 2014 was also a record year for sales, with a 4.7% increase on 2013, previously Bluewater’s best-ever year. Bluewater also continues to achieve the highest retail spend, catering spend, dwell and conversion results in the UK according to CACI’s annual Shopper Dimensions report.
