Astley signs long term partnership with Jet

Jet, a leading brand in the petroleum arena, has confirmed another five-year agreement with Astley, taking their working partnership to a 15 year affiliation.

Astley was appointed an approved Jet signage contractor in 2005 and has since worked on each of Jet’s 330 sites.

The confirmation of another five year agreement will see Astley design, manufacture and install the signage for site specific brand refresh projects as well as new sites and also includes a full maintenance programme.

The new contract comes as the company, which was founded more than 90 years ago and has been owned by the current directors for 25 years this year, looks to increase its offering to clients in the south of the country and grow its portfolio.

Working within the petroleum sector, Astley is fully aware of its health and safety obligations and has numerous accreditations and operating permits. Along with ISO 9001 and 14001, Astley holds Safe Contractor, Constructionline, CHAS accreditations and “SPA” which is a safety passport that authorises our fitters, surveyors and project managers to work on live petrol forecourts.

The first stage of the contract saw Astley work on 70 sites, all completed at the end of June 2015.

David Forrester, Sales Director of Astley commenting on the contract said, “We are delighted to have been awarded a further five year contract. This agreement will safeguard the future of our employees and allow us to continue with our strategic growth whilst working with one of the leading petroleum brands. We have worked within the sector for many years and have the skills and expertise to deliver results.”

Astley’s portfolio of clients comprises many of the UK’s leading brands including Waitrose, Lloyds Pharmacy, BskyB, Hilton Hotel Group, Frankie and Benny’s, Sainsbury’s and Esso, while it has also designed bespoke architectural signs at London Designer Outlet and Trinity Leeds Shopping Centres.

Since re-launching in 1990 following the management buyout the company has seen annual turnover increase year on year and in 2012 underwent a major re-brand, which saw the company become known as Astley, which incorporates Astley Signs, Astley Imaging and Astley Maintenance.

Astley currently employs 130 people nationally with manufacturing taking place at their Centre of Excellence in Gateshead with support from three further sites in Milton Keynes, Leeds and Glasgow.
