Biscuits boost for volunteers
Staff and volunteers working on Northumberland Wildlife Trust’s new Heritage Lottery Fund funded Wildlife Discovery Centre at its Hauxley nature reserve on Druridge Bay are being ‘fuelled’ by monthly supplies of free biscuits from Trust supporters Nestlé UK.
From now until the end of the build project during summer 2016, there will be a regular delivery of chocolate goodies onto the site - be they KitKats, Yorkies or Rolos, which is going down really well with all involved in the project.
The Company, based in Fawdon, Newcastle is no stranger to Northumberland Wildlife Trust being the main sponsor of its annual North East Wildlife Photography Competition and working with the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts on a nationwide community campaign involving residents living around Nestle factories to discover how they can support their local environment.
Alex Lister, Northumberland Wildlife Trust Dynamic Druridge Reserves Manager said: “After a hard morning working in the rain, you wouldn’t believe how a chocolate biscuit can boost the morale of our volunteers, and the fact that they are complimentary, makes them taste even better.”
