The growth of Online advertising

Online advertising increased 12.8% in Q1 of 2015, hitting £1.9bn - its highest ever quarterly total.

Across the board, UK advertising spend reached a record-breaking £4.7bn in the first three months of 2015, according to the latest figures from the advertising expenditure report from Warc and the Advertising Association.

The growth in online advertising was driven by marketing on mobile devices, which was up more than 50% to £500m.

Warc research analyst James McDonald, said digital advertising spend is still on the increase: “We continue to record growth in digital ad revenue among both national and regional newsbrands as part of our quarterly survey of publishers, although a mild slowdown has been noted for both in recent quarters.”

Online publishers, like Bdaily, are continuing to innovate and adapt to the ever-changing landscape of digital advertising. Over half of the traffic to Bdaily comes from mobile users and our advertising solutions reflect that.

All of the banner and sidebar adverts on our site are fully-responsive for mobile users. In addition, our e-mail marketing campaigns land directly in the inboxes of Bdaily subscribers, and can be accessed on the go on mobile or tablet, not just on desktop.

Sarah Callender, managing director at Bdaily, commented:

“Small businesses are feeling the benefits of advertising online. Digital advertising is measurable in a way traditional is not.
“Here at Bdaily, we always report back to clients on the progress of their campaign, including article views and email open rate. As a result, we are able to offer a fully-comprehensive and trackable service that businesses can trust.”
“We also work together with businesses to improve the quality of their content, to ensure they maximise their potential when advertising with us.”
