£1.1m jobs boost for Redbridge

Redbridge Council has secured £1.12m from the Mayor’s London Enterprise Panel to support the creation of over 500 jobs in the borough.

The funds from the New Homes Bonus will help deliver five key projects, which are expected to support over 500 people into employment and provide support to over 400 businesses.

One of the five projects include tailored business support and advice for new and existing small and medium sized businesses at a new business hub in Redbridge Central Library – the hub will launch in October 2015 and will be available until the end of June 2016 from 2016,

Councillor Helen Coomb, Cabinet Member for Economy, Regeneration and Planning, said, “Unlocking the economic potential of our Borough is a key priority for us and we’re very pleased to receive this funding from the London Enterprise Panel for regeneration projects in Redbridge.

“These projects will help residents to secure jobs and apprenticeships. They will also help to make our town centres more sustainable and will provide vital support to new and existing businesses in the Borough. The funding will help us to continue our drive to unleash business opportunities and boost the local economy.”
