St Helens Council teams up with maintenance company
The local authority in St Helens has formally joined forces with the operator of a training centre in the town in a new Primary Authority Partnership Agreement.
The partnership, struck with City Facilities Management (UK) Limited (City FM), will see the environmental health arm of St Helens Council provide the firm with advice and guidance, in addition to liaising with other councils across the UK that are responsible for regulating City FM workplaces.
While headquartered in Glasgow, City FM employs more than 12k workers in technical, cleaning and maintenance positions throughout the country and also operates a training centre in St Helens.
The member of the cabinet for Green, Smart and Sustainable Borough, Councillor Seve Gomez-Aspron, said: “St Helens Council is committed to supporting local businesses wherever it can.
“This initiative provides an example of how the council’s Environmental Health section can assist in achieving this, whilst at the same time retaining its more traditional enforcement role.”
