Digital conference expands in the North West with two-day Manchester event
After eight years of operating in Newcastle, the Thinking Digital Conference has announced expansion in the North West.
The organisers of the event are set to launch Thinking Digital Manchester, which will be held in HOME, the city’s contemporary arts centre, on November 2-3.
A series of workshops will be offered on the first day, while the second will be marked by keynote talks on a number of topics, including tech startups, science, mobile apps and digital arts.
Thinking Digital’s Herb Kim commented: “We’re extremely excited to be taking the conference to Manchester and reaching a wider community. We already produce the TEDxManchester and TEDxLiverpool events so Thinking Digital Manchester will be our newest conference in North West England.”
Rory Sutherland, the vice chairman of multidiscipline organisation Ogilvy & Mather Group UK, is the first of 20 speakers to be announced for the conference.
Tim Leberecht, the chief marketing officer of global design and architecture company NBBJ, spoke at Thinking Digital Newcastle earlier this year. Commenting on the event, he said: “Thinking Digital is an incredibly well curated conference that does the rare thing: presenting an eclectic and wide-ranging program while also managing to go deep.
“You feel that every speaker was hand-picked for a reason, and that the audience is committed to embracing the unexpected. It’s hard to find a conference on our digital society that is as personal, intellectually curious, and savvy as this one.”
