Manchester City FC strengthens Asian ties with latest deal

Manchester City has struck a new global partnership with South Korean tyre and tubing company Nexen Tire.

The deal was announced during a signing ceremony at the City Football Academy attended by Manchester City’s chief executive, Ferran Soriano, and the president of Nexen Tire, Ho-Chan Kang.

Ferran said at the event: “We are very happy to welcome Nexen Tire as our newest global partner and to welcome President Kang to our home in Manchester.

“We have millions of followers in South Korea and we will be able to provide them with more engaging experiences. Nexen is not only a well-established South Korean brand, but has a strong ambition to grow globally like we do.”

He added: “This partnership builds a strategic relationship that will enable us both to meet our objectives.”

In addition to an LED presence at each of the club’s games played at the Etihad Stadium, the Asian company will also be granted naming rights for the community bridge that links Manchester City’s home stadium with the City Football Academy.

Nexen Tire president Ho-Chan Kang said: “We are very pleased to serve as the Official Tire of Manchester City FC, one of the best soccer clubs in Europe.

“This will provide us a great opportunity to let customers around the world know about Nexen Tire through the partnership with Manchester City FC, which has numerous fans across all continents.”

He continued: “We will strengthen our brand power through continuous sports marketing.”
