Sheffield architectural firm builds foundations for success

Turnover has almost doubled in the last 12 months at a Sheffield-based architectural practice.

Bosses at Coda Studios and its subsidiaries Coda Planning and Coda Structures highlighted having projects worth more than £200 million in the pipeline as being key to their success.

David Cross, managing director, said the firm is now working on developments delivering around £600 million of Gross Value Added (GVA) to the economy.

He added: “The past 12 months have been incredibly successful for us and we are extremely confident that the next year will see even further growth.

“Coda Planning, under director Adam Murray, is now three-years-old and, in line with Coda Studios growth, has doubled its trade in the past year with a raft of both local and national planning success stories.

“It has been a similar success story for Coda Structures, under director Henry Freeman, a new and integral part of our suite of services working alongside our architects and technicians to deliver anything from small bespoke projects to large scale mixed-use developments.”

The company currently has a workforce of 26 across its two sites and now has plans to expand into the North West with a Coda Manchester scheduled to open this autumn, which will take staffing levels up to 30.

Coda is also currently in talks for the acquisition of another South Yorkshire architectural practice, a deal that is expected to be concluded in the next few weeks.
