This week’s Yorkshire appointments
Tim Cadman, Copthorne Hotel
Tim Cadman, originally from Ashbourne, in Derbyshire, has been appointed as the new general manager of Copthorne Hotel, Sheffield, which is part of the Millennium and Copthorne group.
Tim joins from the Copthorne Hotel Manchester where he held the same position. A career in the hospitality industry has also seen Tim work for hotels including The Dorchester and The Belfry. He was also a former trouble shooter for hotels in Ireland and Liberia.
The four-star city centre hotel is situated adjacent to Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane stadium and has 158 guest rooms and a Penthouse Suite. It is home to the 1855 bar and restaurant, which specialises in using seasonal, local ingredients.
Tim said: “I’m delighted to be coming back ‘home’ to work at such a prestigious hotel in the Millennium and Copthorne group.
“The Copthorne Hotel Sheffield is a fantastic product with a strong brand and a unique city centre location at the world’s oldest professional football ground.
“I’m looking forward to building on the success achieved over the last six years and I’m hugely excited about the opportunities ahead.”
Paul Mack, Gent Visick
Property company Gent Visick has appointed Paul Mack as Director of Agency as the
company embarks upon its next phase of expansion.
Paul, who joins the Leeds-based firm following twelve years with DTZ as Director, will work alongside fellow Director, Andrew Gent, taking the dedicated agency team to a headcount of five and boasting the strongest and most experienced industrial agency offering in the North.
Managing Director Rupert Visick commented, “Paul is a fantastic signing for Gent Visick and is a like-minded individual who brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and enthusiasm to our growing team.
“Paul will help us further develop our agency offer as he shares our client service ethos which is the bedrock of the Gent Visick brand.”
Paul Mack said, “I’m extremely excited to join Yorkshire’s preeminent niche industrial agency team. Having worked with Andrew and the team on previous instructions I’ve always been impressed with their level of professionalism and market intelligence.

Since joining DTZ in 2003 Paul has established himself as one of main players in the Yorkshire industrial market and has advised on some key industrial property deals over the last few years including the letting of 140,000 sq. ft. at Sherburn Distribution Park to Optare Plc, as well as working on some of the largest industrial estates in Yorkshire such as Gildersome Spur, Millshaw Park and Monckton Road.
Jason Hogan & David Capper, Westfield Health
Westfield Health has strengthened its senior management team with two key appointments.
The Sheffield-based health insurere has appointed Jason Hogan (pictured above) as its Finance Director and David Capper in a new role as Commercial Director.
Jason has spent the majority of his career working in general insurance, and the last 15 years in healthcare. He joins Westfield Health from Benenden where he was the Group Head of Strategy. Prior to that, he held various accounting and commercial roles within the Simplyhealth Group.
Jason, who lives in Leeds, said: “Having worked in the healthcare industry for many years, I’ve always admired Westfield Health in their ability to be the first in the market to deliver innovative solutions and provide award winning customer service. So when the opportunity arose to join such a successful team, I didn’t have to think twice.
“It’s an incredibly exciting time for the business and I’m pleased to be playing my part in leading the finance, compliance, propositions and IT teams.”
David, who previously worked for Westfield Health as Head of Sales Operations & Retention before joining thebigword Group in Leeds, said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be back at Westfield Health, which is a fantastic organisation with big ambitions for the future. This is an exciting new role, both for me and the business, and I’m really looking forward to contributing to the company’s growth plans.”
Jason and David will join the other members of Westfield Health’s Executive Management Team, led by Chief Executive Jill Davies; Operations Director Julie Gill, Sales and Marketing Director Paul Shires, and Head of HR Development and Strategy Fiona Lowe.
Saurabh Prabhakar, DoubleTree by Hilton
Saurabh Prabhakar has been appointed Executive Sous Chef at DoubleTree by Hilton - Leeds City Centre.
Saurabh, who recently appeared on BBC2’s ‘Chefs on Trial’, relocated to Yorkshire from London having worked at the Hilton Kensington for three years.
The talented chef first cut his mustard on a two-year training programme at one of Asia’s most prestigious culinary schools, the Oberoi Centre for Learning and Development, considered a benchmark for international excellence within the hotel industry.
He then took up positions at several Oberoi hotel restaurants across the globe including the Oberoi Mumbai, serving up culinary delights for a range of VIP clientele included A-list movie stars, Prime Ministers and even the legendary King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson.
Two years spent working for the Holland America Luxury Cruise Line company allowed Saurabh to hone his craft, learning about different international cuisines, before settling in London where he undertook apprenticeships with renowned chefs, including the Michelin starred Galvin brothers and mentorship under Phil Howard of award-winning The Square restaurant in Mayfair.
Saurabh, who will work under Executive Head Chef Daniel Benefer at City Cafe in Leeds said: “I love modern British cooking and especially being able to experiment with different flavours and spices, giving traditional British favourites an international twist using techniques I’ve learnt from some of the leading contemporary chefs.
“Daniel is a terrific champion of the fine produce which we have in abundance here in Yorkshire and I completely support his commitment to working with local ingredients, as do our customers who, now more than ever, like to know exactly where their food is coming from.
“I’ve not only been able to create some fantastic fusion dishes on the a la carte menu, but the weekly changing market menu also gives me the opportunity to really experiment with flavours and dishes, working closely with the whole team.”
Polly Woodvine, Extreme
Digital marketing agency, Extreme has appointed Polly Woodvine as Account Director to assist with a series of project wins and the expansion of existing accounts.
Polly joins the Harrogate-based company from a role as Digital Trading Manager at the Asda Media Centre where she was responsible for all Asda’s category digital advertising. Her first task will be taking on the management of the agency’s newly expanded Nisa account. Extreme has been partnered with the retail giant for more than a year, throughout which the digital remit has continued to grow, engaging the majority of the agency’s full-service team.
Polly is the latest in a steady string of appointments over the last six months to meet demand for Extreme’s digital services. Other new faces include Digital Designer Val Vico, PPC and Analytics Consultant Lewis Clark and New Business Account Manager Sarah Warne.
Extreme Creations is now a 30-strong, fully-integrated digital marketing team which has delivered creative insight to brands including the NHS, Lansinoh and Silver Cross.
Polly commented: “I am really looking forward to using my retail marketing skills on a fresh account and working alongside a dynamic, creative and forward thinking team.”
