Industry experts head up Walker Sime’s new Gatwick office

Construction consultancy Walker Sime is continuing its expansion with the launch of a new office located near Gatwick in the South East.

The company, which has offices in Manchester and Liverpool, has chosen to establish a dedicated office in the South East due to demands from its existing client base in the region.

The new office is headed up by Martin Hughes, who has over 35 years’ experience in the industry.

Prior to his appointment at Walker Sime, Hughes worked on complex infrastructure projects for clients including Thames Water, Southern Water, EDF Energy, UK Power Networks, National Grid and Network Rail.

His new role as a director of Walker Sime will focus on business development and building a sustainable business for the company in the South.

Starting with a team of two based at the Gatwick office, Walker Sime is aiming to recruit around 15 southern based team members during the first twelve months.

Mr Hughes said: “Walker Sime has established itself as a reputable, professional and trusted consultancy who work on exciting projects throughout the North West and beyond with high profile clients. It has, for some time, worked on projects outside of its ‘backyard’ in the North West and now is the right time to build upon these opportunities and develop its presence in the South East.

“It is personally an exciting opportunity for me to join the company as it enters a new phase in its growth.”
