Halton-based construction company to increase staff count with 10 new positions

Construction and development firm EBL Group plans to take on 10 additional members of staff to meet the growing demand for its services.

The new team members, who will bring EBL Group’s total staff count to 110, will include both an experienced quantity surveyor and a trainee quantity surveyor, as well as two administrators.

Based in Halton, Cheshire, EBL Group works in both the commercial and residential sectors, while at the same time operating a nationwide commercial roofing division and offering home insurance repairs.

Eddie Basnett, the firm’s MD, said: “EBL Group is thriving - it’s fantastic to see new work coming in every month and we’re now on course to have a record year of sales.

“This summer we’ll be adding another 10 people to the payroll and those new employees will be helping support us as we grow.”

Elsewhere, the company has taken on six school leavers as apprentices in trades such as bricklaying and joinery.

Speaking further, Eddie said: “During the recession we had to tighten our belt but I’m proud of the fact that we didn’t have to lose any staff at EBL Group. It’s been five years of survival but we can feel that the economy is finally out of the doldrums and construction is booming.

“We’re resurrecting mothballed developments and recently landed a couple of great jobs which is why we’re more confident about taking on new staff and looking at expanding the business.”
