Clarke’s Environmental boosts expansion plans with Scottish acquisition
Clarke’s Environmental Ltd, Northallerton-based asbestos removal specialist, has purchased Angus Asbestos Ltd in Glasgow for an undisclosed sum.
Clarke’s Environmental - part of the Harry Clarke Holdings (HCH) group of companies, which has a turnover of more than £10m and employs over 100 staff - will retain and support 12 staff at the Angus Asbestos plant in Hillington Park.
This acquisition is part of an expansion drive that has seen Clarke’s Environmental - which was launched in 2006 following concerns regarding falling standards within the asbestos removal industry - open two new offices in Scotland and strengthen the expertise of its management team with further appointments.
The business now features nine teams of asbestos removal experts, who are commissioned by clients spanning blue chips, local authorities, demolition companies, the MOD, police forces, and prisons – along with domestic customers.
Richard Clarke, MD of Clarke’s Environmental, said: “Scotland is now a world leader in renewable energy and our acquisition of Angus Asbestos is just the start of our Group’s ambitious expansion programme which will be rolled out across the next 12 months. Our growth strategy also includes additional investment and expansion in Yorkshire.”
