Noiseworks set for Jesmond expansion following new client wins
Digital agency Noiseworks is set to expand after a successful year of account wins.
Phil Duggan, 28, launched the company during his time as a mature student at Gateshead College whilst also juggling married life and two young children.
The business is now set to expand with a new office, based on Osbourne Road, Jesmond following a year of contract wins. Phil is also now looking to employ an account manager to assist him with his growing workload.
Phil began a Higher National Diploma in computing and systems development at Gateshead College in 2012, where his interest in website building began.
Phil said: “Business is going really well, my client base is growing steadily and I am now looking to expand within the coming months. I have acquired a new office and will be looking for staff very soon, but I couldn’t have done it without Gateshead College.
“I have always had an interest in computing and website design. My first module when studying my HND was website design, and that gave me the bug. I started designing websites from then, steadily building up my experience and contacts before I launched Noiseworks.
“I chose Gateshead College because I had actually studied there before and really enjoyed it. I returned to build my knowledge and provide myself with an extra stepping stone to achieve the career I really want. I had also heard excellent things about their computing and IT department and I can honestly say it was the best decision I could have made.
“My tutors were incredibly supportive and gave me both practical and academic advice and extra-curricular activities I could do to prepare me for working in the industry, including tips on which networking events to attend to build my clients.
It was hard to juggle my family, studying and setting up a business, but it was all very much worth it.“
Noiseworks offersn website design, social media marketing and branding and has clients across a range of industries, including financial advice companies, customer service centres and tattoo parlours. The company has also celebrating winning a further contract to support a civil engineering company based in Bedlington.
Dawn Webb, curriculum leader for Level 2 computer science at Gateshead College, said: “Phil was one of our stand out students because he worked so hard throughout his course and we are delighted to hear that Noiseworks is going from strength to strength.
“Phil is a prime example of the success that students can have through higher education studies, it is a great stepping stone to a successful career.
“Gateshead College higher education courses are an alternative from studying at University and provide vocational and career focussed options with additional financial support for people of all ages and circumstances.”
