Restaurant operator Zanna Group acquires Northern Quarter eatery SuperStore
Zanna Group, the operator of the Mughli indian restaurants in Knutsford and Rusholme, has expanded its portfolio by acquiring Northern Quarter eatery SuperStore.
The company’s latest acquisition follows a string of restaurant openings over the last two years, which included The Railway Café & Gin Bar in Alderley Edge, Cheshire.
Zanna Group’s Sax Arshad is enthusiastic about Superstore’s future. He commented: “We spent our childhood in dad’s clothing business on Newton Street round the corner before he opened Mughli in ’91 and to see the changes to the area since has been great to see and now be a part of.”
For the interim following the acquisition, the Northern Quarter restaurant will continue to trade under the SuperStore brand. It will be led by Daniel Good, its current manager, while the eatery’s head chef, Byron Moses, has plans to transform the menu.
SuperStore’s former owner, Mital Morar, said: “I couldn’t be leaving SuperStore in better hands – the team and I have always been a fan of Mughli in Rusholme and the brothers themselves have a tremendous reputation in the industry for exceptional and vibrant restaurants.
“I’m confident that our loyal customers will enjoy what they and chef Byron have in store and that the restaurant will go from strength to strength under their ownership.”
