Spanish tapas bar brings hispanic influence to Boston Spa
Boston Spa’s new tapas bar, La Casita, officially opened on Thursday 13 August, with guests from across Yorkshire joining in an evening-long fiesta to welcome the Spanish bar to the town.
The high street bar, which opens to the public today, Friday 14 August, incorporated its hispanic influence and supplied guests with a range of freshly-prepared tapas dishes, each paired with cavas, Spanish craft beer and sangria.
La Casita’s co-owners, Simon Miller, Oliver Renton and Ben Riley, led the the official opening night. Simon said: “We’re thrilled to be opening our second site here in Boston Spa a little over a year after our first Spanish bar opened in Ilkley.”
“The reception we have received over the last few weeks has been really encouraging and it’s fantastic to now see people enjoying the full Spanish tapas and drinking experience in this newly renovated space.”
Located on the high street in Boston Spa two centre, the 1,000 sq ft, two storey site has been renovated in a traditionally Spanish style to feature a charcuterie bar serving drinks and light tapas plates as well as a 30 cover tapas restaurant.
During warmer months, a 20 cover secluded outdoor courtyard also provides additional drinking and dining space.
The new venue’s first floor bar, which will serve a range of Spanish craft beers and wines from around the world, will be central feature of La Casita Boston Spa.
Each drink has been chosen to pair perfectly with specially-imported hams, charcuterie and cheeses, sourced from the Badajoz region of south west Spain, which are available as drinks accompaniments or with larger tapas dishes.
In the restaurant, La Casita will offer an extensive range of classic and modern tapas plates including star dishes such as poached salt cod with spiced lentils, soft shell crab with saffron and garlic, chorizo cooked in red wine and roasted padrón peppers.
Oliver added: “We want La Casita to be a relaxed local bar where the very best hispanic food and drink is celebrated. We’re very lucky to have taken on this incredibly characterful building and we’re excited to begin welcoming customers for summertime drinks and tapas.”
Located on the first floor of La Casita is the Dali dining room which is available for private hire. The room, which caters for 14, seated or standing, can be booked for meetings, functions, canapé drinks receptions and private dinners both during the day and in the evening. Customers are also able to work with the La Casita team to create tailored menus for private hire events.
The first La Casita restaurant was launched in Ilkley last year.
