Coventry Rugby Beerfest to benefit NSPCC’s work with local children

Coventry Rugby Beerfest 2015 is coming to Butts Park Arena this month, with 100% of the proceeds benefitting the NSPCC.

The event, organised by the NSPCC’s Coventry and Warwickshire business board, will take place on Friday 21 and Saturday 22 August, with tickets costing just £5. As well as entry to the event, the entry fee will also secure a wristband, a special Beerfest glass and a programme.

With over 36 ales and 8 ciders available during the weekend, even the most discerning ale fan will be spoilt for choice. And to satisfy all the rugby fans, there will be a friendly match between Coventry and London Welsh at 2:30pm on Saturday afternoon.

All proceeds from the event will help support the NSPCC’s service centre in Coventry, which works directly with some of the city’s most vulnerable children and families.

Hamilton Bland, one of the Coventry Rugbyfest’s main organisers, said: “The first Coventry Rugby Beerfest is set to be an exciting event and one that I am very much looking forward to.

“Guests can look forward to a fun weekend, sampling some of the best local ales available, whilst enjoying some fantastic sporting entertainment. We have no doubt that it will prove to be a great day out for all that attend and we hope to see as many local people there are possible.

“I would like to thank Coventry Rugby Club and all our generous sponsors who have made this event possible. Thanks to their support we were able to ensure that all the proceeds taken over the weekend will go to such an important local charity. “

Sarah Williams, NSPCC fundraising manager, said: “I want to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in the Coventry Rugby Beerfest for supporting the NSPCC.

“For nearly 20 years, our service centre in Coventry has worked to support children and families in the city who really need us, helping them to transform their lives for the better. The centre currently focuses on helping children and young people who have been affected by sexual abuse or neglect and children who have a parent who has drink or drug problem.

“We know our work can make a huge difference to these children and young people, who are often experiencing considerable difficulties in their lives. As the NSPCC receives more than 90% of our funding from generous supporters, it is thanks to events like this one that we are able to continue this vitally important work in the city.”
