Leisure firm Travel Counsellors relocates to Trafford Quays

The independent leisure business Travel Counsellors has announced plans to move its Bolton head office to Peel Land & Property’s Venus office building in Trafford Quays.

The company and more than 200 support staff are set to occupy their new office space, spanning three floors and totalling 28,500 sq ft, before the end of the year.

The move follows expansion that has seen a 30% increase this year in the number of clients using Travel Counsellors to run their own home-based travel businesses.

The new office will feature training facilities for its growing number of agents, of which there are 1,400 globally.

Paul Chappels, Head of Asset Management for Peel said: “We’re delighted that the team at Travel Counsellors have bought into the advantages of basing themselves at such a high profile location. Over the coming months we’ll be working closely to ensure we achieve the high-spec, office fit-out that reflects an exciting, rapidly growing brand.”

Travel Counsellors Managing Director Steve Byrne added: “We have enjoyed 15 years at our Head Office base in Bolton, but have now outgrown the building so took this as an opportunity to find a location and building to meet the current and long-term needs of the business.

“After much deliberation and research, it is clear the Venus offices are by far the highest standard compared with any other premises we have considered, and provides a fantastic office environment that is reflective of the great people we have in the business.”

We’re confident that relocating our head office to Venus will provide us with the facilities, environment and location to further build the business.”

The neighbouring area offers over 3.5 million square feet of retail, leisure and office space, with more than 150 acres of future development land.

Peel says that he area will continue to evolve and grow as it sees a further £3 billion of development, including plans for a £1bn Trafford Waters development on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal.
