Wolves all stars add to family fun

Wolves fans will have the chance to pit their footballing skills against players including Mel Eves and Jody Craddock in a charity match being organised by Higgs & Sons solicitors.

Higgs Family Fun Day on Sunday 20th September will feature a charity football match in which Wolves All Stars will take on a Higgs & Sons select XI. The Higgs team will be made up of players who have bid for the chance to turn out against their heroes (or not depending on allegiances). All bids made will go towards supporting Higgs & Sons charity of the year, the Alzheimer’s Society.

“The Higgs Family Fun Day, is one of the highlights in our charity events calendar,” comments Clare Griffiths, Head of events at the Black Country based firm.

“Last year hundreds of people came along to watch the game against a team of Villa All Stars whichedhelp us raise over £4000. This year we hope even more people will come along to enjoy the family based activities on offer throughout the day.”

Activities on offer at the event being held at Stourbridge FC’s Memorial Ground include pre and post match entertainment, bouncy castle, exotic animals, face painting, a charity raffle and plenty of options for food and drink.

Places on the Higgs team are available to the highest bidders, with all money raised going to the Alzheimer’s Society. There are up to 22 places in the Higgs squad available, with each player playing at least a 35 minute half.

“It’s fantastic that Higgs & Sons is supporting Alzheimer’s Society as their charity of the year,” comments Ray Nash, Senior Regional Corporate Fundraising Executive at the Alzheimer’s Society.

“Every year, more than a million people make use of the information we provide and this event, along with everything else Higgs & Sons has been doing to support us throughout this year will enable us to make a huge difference to the lives of people living with dementia today and fund research for a cure tomorrow.”

Higgs Family Fun Day with the Wolves All Stars takes place on Sunday 20th September at the Memorial Ground, Stourbridge FC.
