Wigan business offers a warm welcome

A Wigan lady got more than she bargained for when she visited Corkills Volkswagen.

Raili Zverev, 23 and her fiancé, Andy, didn’t just buy a new Polo when they visited the Wallgate showroom one Sunday afternoon in July, Raili got a job offer.

While discussing the purchase with salesman Dean Atkins Raili commented that the showroom seemed to be a nice place to work which prompted salesman Dean Atkins to tell her about an opening for a showroom host that was coming up within the business.

Having worked in childcare for 3 years, Estonian born Raili was keen to try something new and couldn’t believe her luck when she found out about the opportunity.

Jacqui Kaye, Brand Manager at Corkills Volkswagen, said: “We are always on the lookout for talented people who are keen to learn and understand the importance of great customer service. Raili joined the team as a showroom host on 27th July 2015 and has already proved to be a great asset to the team with her enthusiasm and professionalism.”

Volkswagen showroom hosts provide a face to face welcome and central point for customers visiting a showroom or service department. They provide information, refreshments and look after customers until a sales or service representative is available to take the enquiry further.

“Who would’ve thought that while buying a new car I would also get the chance to work in a Volkswagen showroom, I can’t believe how lucky I have been”, said Raili, “It has only been three weeks but I can honestly say that this has been the best job I have ever had. It’s great chatting to the customers and getting to know our regular visitors and I have learnt so much about the Volkswagen models available.”

Jacqui added: “Our showroom hosts undergo a series of e-learning modules to educate them about the wide range of models and specifications currently available from Corkills Volkswagen.”
