Funding supports Wirral medical systems firm's growth

An international medical systems integration business is expanding thanks to a £250,000 loan from The North West Fund for Loans Plus managed by FW Capital.

Jones AV, which moved to new premises in Birkenhead earlier this year, is using the loan to equip a state-of-the-art showroom at its new premises with specialist medical audio visual (AV) equipment.

Having recently won a multi-million-pound contract to fit out 70 operating theatres at 4 hospitals in Norway, the loan will also enable the company to expand its sales and maintenance operations to fulfil the contract.

Established in 2008 to supply Sony with medical systems, Jones AV has since grown steadily and today the company is preferred distributor to most major manufacturers of specialist medical monitors, screens and other hardware.

With ambitious plans to increase its market share and boost its revenues from sales of this equipment over the next 2 years, Jones AV will use the loan from The North West Fund for Loans Plus to implement a marketing campaign and stock up with key products to improve order fulfilment times.

Managing Director Ingo Aicher said: “We’ve grown steadily since 2008 and we’re keen to continue expanding. The medical service sector is growing rapidly and there are significant opportunities for us to target in future.

“Moving to new premises in Birkenhead is key to our future success and securing the loan from The North West Fund for Loans Plus has provided the capital we needed to make some important changes.

“We are using the loan to equip our new showroom, expand our sales and maintenance arms and also boost our stocks of fast-moving products”.

With long-term expansion plans in place, Jones AV expects to recruit ten new staff in key roles over the next two years.
