Cooper & Barr sets sights on Middlehaven restaurant partnership

Cooper & Barr has secured a deal with restaurant Brasserie Hudson Quay to supply ready reader glasses to customers.

The Middlesbrough-based opticians, a family run business spanning over three generations, has launched this new partnership to draw attention to eye health.

Nicola Cooper-Heenan, co-owner of Cooper & Barr said: “We’ve chosen this partnership as we feel it’s something that reflects our company’s ethos.

“As eyecare professionals, we often hear from our clients that they struggle to read the menu under the ambient lighting in restaurants – particularly if they’ve forgotten their glasses. When the need for reading glasses is an essential part of life, there is always panic when we forget them. So we wanted to put a stop to that.”

“Although we do encourage our patients to ensure glasses are professionally prescribed; ready readers are a great short term fix for spectacle wearers when dining out.”

Cooper & Barr is currently celebrating 90 years in the optometry business with three successful practices across the Tees Valley, County Durham and North Yorkshire area.

They also specialise in glasses trends, making sure the latest styles and shapes are available throughout each practice. Customers can choose between the major brands stocked including Tiffany & Co., Prada and Michael Kors.

Nicola said: “Celebrating 90 years of Cooper & Barr is a great achievement for our business and if it wasn’t for our loyal customers, we wouldn’t have been able to do so. We’re looking forward to the next 90 years.”
